OS I/O Validation Engineer

Description
In this position, you will be working on the leading edge of server platform development to deliver high quality server I/O subsystem components in support of new Company® Technology servers; including the latest Company® Xeon(TM) processor and chipsets. You will be working with the Operating Systems, I/O and Validation (OIV) team to debug and enable critical device drivers and operating systems for on-board I/O components and add-in adapters to ensure timely support of Company Enterprise Platforms and Services division server platform launches. You will be working hands on with hardware and software supporting the latest 1, 2 and 4 socket server systems while focusing on debug and enabling of Operating Systems, networking technologies and storage technologies, such as SATA, SAS, RAID.
Qualifications
You should possess a Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with some relevant industry experience in development or validation of Company® architecture-based platforms. Additional qualifications include: - Platform level debug skills capable of analyzing complex system-level configurations and isolating specific failures - Familiarity with SATA, SAS, networking I/O technologies from an add-in adapter and OS/Driver debug perspective - Familiatity with Company x86 architecture and PCI specification. - Excellent team player, works well with others in geographically dispersed organizations, and multiplexes time well between several diverse tasks and activities - Self-motivated, able to work independently and have excellent verbal and written communication skills - Preference will be given to individuals with familiarity of storage protocols, protocol analysis or experience using storage protocol analyzers - Preference will be given to individuals with familiarity of Windows and Linux Operating Systems architectures, kernel debugging. - Preference will be given to individuals with familiarity of EFI based BIOS architecture - Experience in installing or configuring Windows* or Linux*/Unix Server operating systems
