Job Title: XML Engineering Operation Manager
Job Description:
The Operation Manager is an individual contributor and the focal point for all operational processes within XML Engineering Team (XET). This includes direct management of all Q/A logistics, driving Q/A execution across five product/component teams and ensuring the successful delivery of Company Security Toolkits project and Company XML Software Suite project, and working with engineering team, business development team, software product service team and support team to ensure the product development on track and customer issues are well handled. Other key roles include monitoring the customer support health of security toolkits product and serve as a single portal as Technical Consultant Engineer, through designing indicators and metrics, prioritizing and assigning issues to respective engineers by coordinating with engineering managers and communicating with major ISV customers on technical consultancy and monitoring these on a regular basis, also able to challenge the status quo and raise the flag when issues happen or short of resources. This position reports to the manager of XET.
XML Engineering Team is an organization with a mission to drive highly optimized solution for XML and web service security. To do this it works closely with sales teams, global OEM/ISVs and standard bodies, as well as other labs and business units within Company.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this role needs to have several years of project or operation management experience, as well as extensive knowledge of software development processes (Plan, Finance, Staffing, HR, Purchasing, Corporate Services, etc.). Strong communications, leadership, and project management skills are preferred. The successful candidate is required to have at least a BS in CS, IS or related discipline with 6-10 years of solid technical and project experience in enterprise application and/or system development, experience with managing production teams, ideally combined with clear knowledge depth and breadth in some of the following architectural domains:
l Service-Oriented Architecture and Development, Service-Oriented Infrastructure and Autonomic Computing, Enterprise Services and Operations Management
l Enterprise Portal and Information Management, Enterprise Converged Collaboration / Communications, Enterprise Information Integration Services
l Work experience in software architecture for performance critical applications, such as OS, database, or compiler.
l Experience with XML and underlying middleware support libraries and runtime support.
l Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience as lead engineer or Manager for software development. Able to influence without using authority. Accomplishes program goals through others while maintaining relationships. Leads and influences project execution decision affecting project characterization and funding; facilitates the definition of the decision making model for the project.
l Organizational Savvy: Understands and effectively manages organizational politics; takes the initiative to drive agreement, problem solving, and/or decision making.
l Process Improvement and Program Lifecycle Management: Drives the right tension to achieve the appropriate balance of business process and application efficiency/ results; strongly influences cross-organizational business process improvement and change. Detail Orientation, focuses on details to ensure clarity and accuracy of documentation.
l Performance Reporting: Collects and disseminates information on program performance, including forecasting, status reporting, and resource allocation; monitors indicators and progress to identify variances from plan for escalation as appropriate.
