Senior CDMA Sustaining HW Engineer

You will join a team that strives for continuous improvement and excellence as a CDMA RF Engineer to grow your skills in the Lifecycle and Cost Reduction Wireless RF Access/Data group supporting various and exciting programs. This position involves the RF and Network support of the configuration portfolio for the CMDA product line. You will work and interact with senior engineers and other organizations and customers including NPI Design, manufacturing, PLM, TAS, Vendors, Customer Account Primes and the direct customer including the support and resolution of customer and product issues and the development of new products to support the current portfolio.

 

Responsibilities include:

o  Design control in radio frequency engineering and modifications by researching RF engineering techniques and approaches; developing circuit designs; verifying and validating designs through simulations and tests.

o RF board level designs applicable to RF mobility infrastructure and basestations.  Such activities require a demonstrated knowledge of device S-parameters, impedance matching, noise performance and linearity, as well as cascaded system noise performance and rejection, block and level diagrams, and thorough understanding and experience with designing and evaluating LNAs  receivers and transmitters, from end to end.

o Design test planning, test case creation & board level test plan execution on end to end CDMA voice and data network.

o Issue identification and resolution

o Input into board design through close interactions with design teams

o Interactions with all R&D teams including product line management, customer service, systems engineering and VO

o Ability to develop, understand and validate design documentation

o Interface with manufacturing to ensure optimum design centering to support stable and high prodcution yield.

o Evaluate production test plan and procedure.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering

Minimum of 5 years RF circuit board or power amplifier design experience (700MHz to 2100MHz)

Experience with software/hardware interface design

Experience designing RF chain budgets and impairment analysis

Familiarity with RF test equipment and methodologies

Familiarity with Labview ATE S/W

Experience using Agilent ADS, Ansoft and Matlab simulation tools

Proven technical and interpersonal skills in a multi-function and dynamic team environment

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Innovation

Knowledge of CDMA, EVDO, GSM, UMTS radio theory & operating principles would be an asset

Experience with Cadence Concept and Allegro tools would be an asset
