ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS(Include special duties and responsibilites)
Senior position in the IT Operations organization with responsibilities in five areas (in order of priority):
1) Support of all Windows servers and AD infrastructure 2) Support for Linux 3) Support of Local Network Equipment 4) Desktop Support, 5) Maintenance and enhancement of key aspects of technical operations environment.
Major Responsibilities:-Responsible for the technical implementation and support of internal hardware and software. Establish policies for server deployment, maintance and security. Perform day-to-day maintenance, server monitoring and installation of server, workstation and network equipment. Provide 24x7 support and 100% up time on mission critical servers. Support an maintain Windows 2003 servers including File and Print Services, DNS, DHCP, WINS, FTP, SMTP, Mail, ACS, Terminal Server, Maintain, control and administer Virus protection for servers. Linux system administration for our Engineering environment. -Provide server solutions for all departments. Maintain Engineering Web Server. Research, Evaluate, and select new technologies as business requires. This includes developing a project, evaluation and testing plan.
QUALIFICATIONS(Include education, technical expertise, skills and experience required)
Current MSCE, degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems. Linux and Cisco certification is a plus. Fluent in English. Extensive knowledge of Windows server hardware, software and peripheral equipment. Thorough understanding of Network architecture and underlying security.
Five or more years experience in Windows Server administration, design and maintenance. Strong bakground in Microsoft products including extensive experience in Microsoft Active Directory administration. Solid experience monitoring, network and Internet security and availability planning. Ability to handle a wide range (breadth, depth and variety) of work during a typical day. Strong customer focus and service orientation. Must be able to make sound decisions in a number of areas, including technical (troubleshooting and analysis), personal (prioritizing activity and maximizing business value) and interpersonal (managing user expectations, dealing with difficult support issues, etc.). Must be able to provide off-hours, on-call support on a rotating basis. Also must be able to perform some operational duties off-hours so as to minimize down time. |
