The Scrum Master is responsible for:

 

Ensuring Scrum is understood and enacted in team. Scrum Masters do this by ensuring that the Scrum Team adheres to Scrum theory, practices, and rules.

Improving the productivity and lives of the development team by facilitating creativity and empowerment and any other way possible.

Improving the engineering practices and tools so each increment of functionality is potentially shippable.

Enabling close cooperation internally across all roles and functions and removing barriers

Shielding the team from external interferences and removing impediments to Team’s progress

Ensuring that the process is followed and improved where applicable

Facilitating and inviting appropriate people to Scrum events as required or needed

Visualize the status of team , eg impediments , progress , productivity etc

 

Additionally , Scrum master will work as senior Developer in the scrum team:

 

Be accountable for software development and maintenance including software design, implementation, test, integration/release and bug fixing.

Participation in requirement/user story analysis and support Product Owner and Software Architect on solution and architecture analysis.

Implement user stories during development iterations, which shall include task breakdown, implementation, test, demo and DoD.

Ensure software code quality, testability, maintainability and function usability.

Work with Technical Writer and provide input for documentation.

Work in Scrum team, follow Scrum Way of Working and ensure Scrum team running efficiently.

Knowledge of Lean and Agile SW development

Knowledge of Scrum

Strong leadership skill, in terms of empowering team, driving change, and communication skill.

Server side application development using Java and J2EE.

Web GUI development using Java, HTML/AJAX/JavaScript.

Basic knowledge of Linux.

Good at both written and spoken English.
